Neptune ingresses from Pisces to Aries for the first time in 165 years.

Recovering from March in April
April begins in the aftermath of the Aries solar eclipse on March 29, with its influence lingering at least until mid-April and beyond. However, the biggest astrological event is Neptune’s shift into Aries on March 30, a placement it hasn’t occupied in 165 years.
Venus and Mercury remain in retrograde, Mars moves into Leo, there’s a Full Moon in Libra, and a New Moon in Taurus.
Chaos and Uncertainty Post-Eclipse
Uncertainty and confusion continue after the solar eclipse, especially with Venus retrograding in Pisces until April 13 (returning to Aries on May 1) and Mercury retrograding in Pisces until April 7 (moving back into Aries on April 16).
The Full Moon in Libra on April 12 coincides with Venus going direct, bringing temporary resolutions in diplomacy and agreements—though likely nothing permanent or well-structured.
Mars finally exits Cancer on April 18, entering Leo. This shift will bring relief, particularly for Cancers who have faced home and family-related stagnation since last September. Other signs will also experience a sense of release in domestic matters. Meanwhile, Leos will feel an energy boost and an increase in confidence thanks to Mars.
On the same day as the New Moon in Taurus (April 27), Mars forms an opposition to Pluto. This is the third and final occurrence of this tense alignment, reviving conflicts or power struggles that began in November 2024. However, Pluto is not easily defeated—anger and demands to have things our way will not succeed at this time.
Neptune Ingresses from Pisces to Aries: From Co-operation to Extreme Individualism
Neptune symbolizes dreams, illusions, idealism, and eventual disillusionment. In Pisces, Neptune has been in its element, as Pisces represents intuition, spirituality, subconscious awareness, and collective unity. The sign seeks to bring people together under a shared vision.
In Aries, however, Neptune is ruled by Mars, which demands action, competition, victory, and glory. Mars’ dream is to act and be the first to reach the finish line—but it also defends its ideals through battle.
When Neptune begins its journey in a new sign, it brings with it a new dream, fantasy, and idealism, adopting the qualities of the planet that rules its new home. Now that Neptune is finishing its transit through Pisces, it leaves behind an era of extreme spiritual and (even physical) exhaustion. Compassion and tolerance may have been taken to such extremes—through exaggeration and guilt-tripping—that they have unintentionally sparked a burnout and backlash against many well-intentioned movements. As spirituality has gained popularity, we have also witnessed Neptune’s darker side: false gurus, illusion, paranoia, and the distortion of facts. .
The danger now is that the decline in tolerance may push society toward the opposite extreme. While most people remain politically in the relative center, societal fatigue makes it easy for extreme groups to manipulate emotions and intensify divisions.
As Neptune enters Aries, it begins shaping a new dream, guided by Mars’ principles. Extreme fantasies cultivated during Neptune’s time in Pisces will now be fueled by Mars’ drive to turn them into reality. With Saturn joining Aries on May 24, it will impose a strict sense of "truth," which, under Neptune’s influence, could be idealistic, fanatical, or distorted. Mars may now encourage radical groups to act on their beliefs, while also inspiring resistance and acts of heroism from opposing sides.
Historical Patterns: Echoes of the Past
Astrologers analyze past cycles to predict the future, as history is inherently cyclical. Neptune moves into Aries on March 30, 2025, and will stay there until 2039. The last time Neptune entered Aries was in April 1861—coinciding with the start of the American Civil War. Astrologically, it is striking that we are already seeing signs of history repeating itself in some form.
On a global scale, we are witnessing a shift away from international cooperation toward prioritizing national interests. Societal intensity will increase even further with Saturn entering Aries and Uranus moving into Gemini on July 7, where it will remain for seven years. Saturn in Aries enforces rigid boundaries, while Uranus in Gemini exacerbates ideological divisions.
Throughout history, Neptune-Saturn cycles (which occur approximately every 36 years) have coincided with major shifts in Russia. The Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, Stalin died in 1953, and the Bolshevik Revolution occurred in 1917. Based on these patterns, potential changes in Russia could also have significant effects EU and beyond. Neptune-Saturn alignments often signify the dissolution or redefinition of symbolic and physical borders.
Neptune in Aries: A Time of Ideological Battles and Heroic Sacrifices
Neptune’s themes of sacrifice for one’s beliefs take on a militant, individualistic nature in Aries. This could manifest as individuals defending their ideologies at all costs. Conversely, we will also witness heroic acts of resistance and self-sacrifice.
April 2025 remains a challenging period for everyone. We are living through historic times. While humanity is not doomed to repeat its past, astrology suggests that it is difficult to break free from recurring themes—both on a personal and global scale.
Now is particularly important to take good care of ourselves, both mentally and physically. If possible, avoid making major decisions until May, as the truth will not become fully clear until the end of the month. Until then, intuition may be our best guide, but distinguishing reality from illusion will be an ongoing challenge amid the chaos.
Namaste,
Ursula Lunardakini
